Why Kids Magic Lab?

Kids Magic Lab is a multi-sensory Science and STEM enrichment lab, dedicated to children from 9 months to 8 years old. For children under 4, we offer a Sensory-Rich curriculum that includes music, yoga, art, and STEM activities. We believe that sensory play in the early years stimulates neural connections in the brain, supporting the development of crucial sensory processing and cognitive skills.

For children ages 4-8, our Super Science & STEM Adventures curriculum combines hands-on learning with scientific facts and foundational knowledge, sparking creativity, curiosity, and innovation. We aim to build a strong base for future learning, inspiring young minds to explore the world around them.

Our inclusive play space fosters a vibrant community where parents can connect, and children are free to play, learn, and thrive.

Children's Enrichment Space

Kids Magic Lab is a premier children's enrichment space, renowned for its creative and innovative classes, day camps, birthday celebrations, and special events!

Meet our children’s enrichment instructors

  • Founder, Art & STEM instructor

Yalin is the founder of Kids Magic Lab and a devoted mother of two. She is a strong advocate for hands-on learning and sensory-rich activities, believing that early education in STEM and the arts fosters independent thinking, logical reasoning, and creative self-expression. Yalin holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Tongji University, an Engineering degree from ISA Lille, and a Master's degree in Finance from Columbia University.

  • Music Teacher

Ilene received her Bachelor's Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2013. She has over a decade of experience teaching music to students of all ages. She currently leads group ukulele classes and teaches over a dozen private students on a variety of instruments including piano, violin, flute, and more. She plays the oboe in several community orchestras, and even writes her own music in her spare time. Ilene believes that music is an integral part of education and is grateful to share this art with so many others!

  • Coach Jennie has been teaching STEAM engineering programs utilizing LEGO tools from DUPLO to Technic Motor/Battery parts for over 12 years now. She has a passion for empowering kids with building skills and practicing creative problem solving and enjoys teaching through Montessori method principles. Jennie is the owner and director of Bricks4Kidz Redmond/Bellevue/Kirkland territory and runs jr. robotic enrichment programs for multiple elementary schools in the area. With a toddler in tow, she's growing more toddler learn-play groups and enjoys connecting and engaging with the younger kids on learning basics through DUPLO play. Born and raised in Redmond, WA, Jennie is Scrummaster and Project Manager in the Health-Tech field assisting Physician Advisors and is also a Mentor with STEAMobile.org, a mobile makerspace 503C growing classrooms on wheels with programs to nourish creative minds.

  • Yoga Instructor

Hello! I’m a kids and family yoga teacher. You can find my classes and workshops at studios on the Eastside. I practice the yoga yamas of inclusivity and teach accessible yoga to people of all abilities, races, and genders. I connect kids to their feelings and encourage them to tune into their intuition. I live in Sammamish with my husband, our 5 year old kiddo and a 12 year old dog. You can catch us paddle boarding, swimming, wild camping, and at the off-leash park!

  • Art Instructor

The more a person works with their hands the more they see their surroundings as shapeable. Our hands help us to think. Seeing shape-ability in our surroundings opens our minds to creative possibilities; how is this made and why? Is there another way it could be? In my classes I love to learn something new along with the students I teach — young minds often have the most surprising questions! I am passionate about teaching and seeing each student explore and grow. I have success teaching all ages a variety of mediums including neurodiverse students. I value a responsive approach that fosters inclusivity and honors diversity. I received my BFA from the School of the art Institute of Chicago. My work has been shown at the SAIC Galleries and Art Bash.

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Moscow Conservatory, as well as a PDPL degree from Mannes School of Music in New York. For over 10 years, I have been helping children discover and develop their talents. My unique methodology is based on numerous scientific studies that demonstrate the positive impact of certain creative activities on children’s cognitive and emotional development. I would be delighted to see you in my classes!

  • Hey I’m Elle! I teach musical theatre at Magic Lab. I went to school for a BFA in musical theatre and am a professional actor. I adore children and their creativity and am excited to be apart of the team.

Founder’s story

Hello! I’m Yalin, a mom entrepreneur, and founder of Kids Magic Lab. My journey started with a big dose of curiosity (and maybe a few late-night science experiments). I earned my BS in Biotechnology from Tongji University, where I got to dive into the fascinating world of cellular biology. That adventure took me from China to France, working with some amazing scientists at Lille 1 University of Science and Technology. Très chic, right?

Later on, I traded lab coats for the hustle and bustle of New York City to earn my Master’s degree at Columbia University. After almost a decade in the finance sector, I realized crunching numbers wasn’t quite as fun as, say, teaching my kids about the wonders of the universe (or how to make slime that actually works).

Through it all, my love for education never wavered. I found myself drawn to teaching art and science, mentoring young minds, and sparking that same sense of wonder I had growing up. So, fueled by my passion for kids and hands-on learning (and probably a lot of coffee), I founded Kids Magic Lab.

Now, as we dive into the world of AI, I see that while robots can do some pretty cool things, they’ll never quite capture the creativity, imagination, connection, and love that make us human.

At Kids Magic Lab, our mission is simple: inspire kids to dream big, think creatively, and have fun while learning. Whether they’re building robots or creating art, we make sure they’re growing with the skills and passion to shape the future—and maybe, just maybe, discover their own love for slime along the way.
